RATE OF PAY:   $14.00 PER HOUR

INTRODUCTION:
The position will be directly supervised by the Transit Coordinator and will provide dispatcher communication/coordination and administrative support for The Moccasin Express. The dispatcher will be an important part of the team and will be responsible for performing the following duties among others:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answers, directs incoming calls to appropriate staff. Must maintain the highest level of customer service related professionalism in answering client related inquiries.
• Provide phone, fax and email communications as required.
• Assists with reports, time sheets and leave requests for departmental staff.
• Must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and written.
• Assist in developing and implementing cleaning and sanitization standards for The Moccasin Express vehicles.
• Develop and maintain a cleaning schedule for all Moccasin Express vehicles.
• Operate passenger vehicles in a safe and responsible manner to provide public transit services consistent with established routes and schedules.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
The person fulfilling this position will be able to work effectively with the staff, and represent the Spokane Tribe in a professional, courteous manner, with the following attributes:
• English language skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Photo Shop.

• Experience using radio communication preferred.
• Reliability, timeliness in meeting deadlines, superior people skills, problem solving and be a goal oriented team player.
• Knowledge of safety precautions, proper and effective sanitation for transit vehicles.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months experience using Microsoft Office Programs with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Photo Shop. (Indicate experience on resume or application).
• Six months minimum of previous customer service related experience. (Indicate experience on resume or application).
• Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation.
• All offers of employment are contingent upon passing both a Spokane Tribe of Indians and Department of Transportation/Federal Transit Authority pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be eligible for automobile insurance under the Tribal insurance policy.
