Wellpinit, WA – The Wellpinit Service Unit received their first shipment of 100 vaccines late yesterday Tuesday December 22, 2020.
Today at 8:00 am a ceremony was held prior to the first immunization was given to Barb Lebret who has worked at the clinic for 40 years.
Spokane Tribal Chairwoman Carol Evans said a prayer and introduced Issac Tonasket who sang a honor song.
Barb Lebret received the first vaccination, the essential front line workers and active DCWMC patients/residents of the Spokane Indian Reservation 75 years and older will be the next to receive vaccinations.
Teressa Martinez, FNP, Acting CEO at the David C. Wynecoop Memorial Clinic commented on a memory she had with her grandmother. “I remember talking with my grandmother about vaccinations where she was so thankful for the polio vaccine, they would no longer have to live in fear”.

Please remember masks, social distancing and frequent handwashing are still necessary even after you are vaccinated. Clinic staff can also help with any questions you may have regarding the vaccine.
